Softball Game Recap: St. Ansgar Saints vs. Riceville Wildcats

St. Ansgar managed to slip by Riceville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Saints might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-2 to the Wildcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in July of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Ansgar and nudges their season record down to 4-10. As for Riceville, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

St. Ansgar didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-4 victory against Garner-Hayfield/Ventura on the 14th. As for Riceville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 11-1 loss against Osage on the 14th.
