Woodland is 1-7 against Calhoun since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Woodland Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Calhoun Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. Woodland is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
Woodland lost a heartbreaker to Cass when they met back in February of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. Woodland fell just short of Cass by a score of 61-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Woodland has suffered yet this season.
Meanwhile, Calhoun had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 52-47 W over Dalton on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 25-25 at the break, but Calhoun was the better team in the second half.
Woodland has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Calhoun, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-10.
Woodland didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Calhoun in their previous meeting two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 53-47 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woodland since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
