Football Recap: Marek Romano and Zeke Kelly Lead the Defense for Ambassador Christian School Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, Ambassador Christian School was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Wesleyan Wolves 24-21.

Ambassador Christian School didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Marek Romano and Zeke Kelly. Another thorn in Wesleyan's side was Willie Sturgis, who picked up 0.5 sacks, forced one fumble, and made 12 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Wesleyan's loss came despite strong showings from Jameson Hilton and Maddox Gartland. Hilton threw for 110 yards and one touchdown on only six passes, while Gartland rushed for 118 yards and one score.

Ambassador Christian School's win bumped their record up to 3-1-1. As for Wesleyan, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ambassador Christian School will head out to challenge Grace Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last. As for Wesleyan, they will face off against Mount Pisgah Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.4 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
