Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Oskaloosa walked away with it. They skirted past the Central Heights Vikings 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Bears sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Lily Pullen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Keirstyn Mitchell, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lydia Turner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Oskaloosa's victory bumped their record up to 20-5.

Looking ahead, Oskaloosa will square off against Cedar Vale/Dexter at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 11.3 runs per game this season. Central Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
