League recap: Meek throws longest pass in league this season for Niwot

Fans got a thrill when Bryan Meek and Gunner Mengel connected against Skyline. The longest such play in 4A Northern this season, the connection resulted in 66 yards.

Niwot moved up to 108 from 141 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cougars climbed the ranks as a result of besting the Falcons 23-16.

Meek and Meek gave Niwot a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Meek threw for 224 yards, while Meek ran for 155 yards. Teammate Jack Setter added to the ground attack by rushing for 102 yards.

Meek and Meek gave Josh Brewer's team a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week.

Mengel was the best wideout in the league this week as Thompson Valley defeated Golden. Mengel tallied 4 receptions for 159 yards. Jacob Bosse helped Thompson Valley's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 46 yards.

Meek was the most successful running back in 4A Northern this week.

Meek put up the best numbers through the air as the Cougars bested Skyline. Meek's favorite target this week was Jake Thramann, who caught 3 passes for 138 yards.

David Eusea was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Eagles defeated the Demons. The 5-foot-8 junior.

Loveland was the team made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in the league. The Indians defeated Lakewood 31-28 earlier in the week.
