Recap: Magoffin County Hornets vs. Floyd Central Jaguars
The Magoffin County Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They took a hard 65-50 fall against Floyd Central. Magoffin County lost against Floyd Central in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 53-13 score last time.
Riley Compton was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 16 rebounds for Floyd Central. That makes it six consecutive games in which Compton has scored at least a third of Floyd Central's points. Chloe Crase was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds.
Magoffin County's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Floyd Central, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Magoffin County will challenge Greenup County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Floyd Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Shelby Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
