Soccer Recap: Otay Ranch Takes a Loss

Otay Ranch entered their contest against Southwest SD on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Otay Ranch Mustangs fell just short of the Southwest SD Raiders by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 5-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

Andre Awittor and Esteban Gonzalez scored both of Otay Ranch's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Otay Ranch's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-4-2. As for Southwest SD, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2-3.

It'll be an old-fashioned rodeo when the Otay Ranch challenge the Crawford at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Southwest SD, they will take on Calexico in a tournament on Thursday.
