Soccer Game Preview: Eastern Greene vs. White River Valley

Eastern Greene hasn't had much luck against White River Valley recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Thunderbirds will face off against the Wolverines at 2:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Eastern Greene is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Lighthouse Christian Academy. The win made it back-to-back victories for Eastern Greene.

Meanwhile, White River Valley got the win against Bloomfield on Wednesday by a conclusive 7-1. Considering White River Valley have won 12 matchups by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Bloomfield from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Memphis Capehart led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by himself.

Eastern Greene's win bumped their record up to 8-6-2. As for White River Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2.

Eastern Greene might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from White River Valley in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
