Basketball Game Preview: Columbus Blue Devils vs. Monroe Golden Tornadoes + How To Watch

Columbus hasn't had much luck against Monroe recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Blue Devils will square off against the Golden Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. Columbus has given up an average of 59.1 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Saturday, Columbus had to suffer through a 69-34 loss at the hands of Chattahoochee County. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Panthers are ranked 71st).

Monroe hadn't beaten Lee County on the road since December 3, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Golden Tornadoes snuck past the Trojans with a 60-54 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Tornadoes.

Monroe's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Columbus, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Columbus took a serious blow against Monroe when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 86-55. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
