Volleyball Recap: St. Pius X Takes a Loss

St. Pius X was the 3-2 winner over Howell North when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lancers fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, St. Pius X sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 23-25, 25-9.

Ben Sumner paced St. Pius X's offense, picking up eight kills. Sumner got some help from Manny Verzola and his nine assists.

St. Pius X's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Howell North, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

St. Pius X didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Rock Bridge on the 12th. As for Howell North, they will face off against Howell at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
