Basketball Game Preview: Burke Bulldogs vs. Bryan Bears

The Burke Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Bryan Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Burke's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Burke picked up another tournament win on Monday. They came out on top against Grand Island by a score of 57-50.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Burke to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael White, who posted 13 points along with eight boards and four blocks. White is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Buchanan, who had ten points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Bryan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Kearney and fell 88-36. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-20.

Burke will have to contain Deon Darnell as he made an impact in Bryan's last game. He earned 12 points. Another player making a difference was Keyon Williams, who posted nine points.

Bryan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Burke, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Burke might still be hurting after the 76-54 loss they got from Bryan in their previous matchup back in January. Can Burke avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
