Baseball Game Preview: Spring Lions vs. Langham Creek Lobos

The Spring Lions will head out to take on the Langham Creek Lobos at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Spring is coming into the game hot, having won their last ten games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Spring duked it out with Dekaney on Friday. The Lions narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Wildcats 6-4. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly two runs.

Travis Ellis looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Spring's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Wilkerson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Joshua Porter was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Langham Creek unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 10-2 to Waller.

Langham Creek also got a good showing from Carter Cook, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Cook gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Grayson Moss made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Spring's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Langham Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 10-15.
