Baseball Recap: Hill Country Christian Takes a Loss

Hill Country Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against New Braunfels Thunder on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Homeschool by a score of 5-4.

GARY DAILEY spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on 11 hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, ALEX Alvarado made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Hill Country Christian dropped their record down to 2-12-1 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for New Braunfels Thunder, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-9-1.

Hill Country Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Braunfels Thunder, they will take on Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
