The Bear River Bears will challenge the Davis Darts at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bear River comes in on three and Davis on six.
Bear River came out on top against Snow Canyon on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Bears narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Warriors 8-6. That's two games straight that the Bears have won by exactly two runs.
The team relied heavily on Alice Roche, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Theurer, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles.
Bear River hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive contests.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Davis and Ridgeline, and Davis kept the tradition alive. The Darts walked away with a 6-1 win over the Riverhawks on Tuesday.
Serena Roth made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Norah Sunderland was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Davis' victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Bear River, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bear River has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. However, it's not like Davis struggles in that department as they've averaged .485. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bear River came out on top in a nail-biter against Davis in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Darts turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
