Basketball Recap: Omaha Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Omaha Christian Academy lost against Brownell Talbot back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Omaha Christian Academy Eagles were beaten by the Brownell Talbot Raiders 55-19. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-5.

Omaha Christian Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Megan Johnston, who posted five points and 12 boards, and Mari Keuck, who earned seven points and six rebounds.

Brownell Talbot was led to victory by Abbi Gibbs and Avery Nichols. Gibbs dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds, while Nichols dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Gibbs a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ana Gibbs, who put up six points and seven boards.

Omaha Christian Academy's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Brownell Talbot, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Omaha Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-11 defeat against Weeping Water on the 13th. As for Brownell Talbot, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-24 loss against Gross Catholic on the 12th.
