Softball Recap: Manzano Monarchs vs. Albuquerque Academy Chargers
Manzano was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Albuquerque Academy Chargers, falling 10-0. The Monarchs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2018.
Manzano saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shania Aragon, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Manzano's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Albuquerque Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
Looking ahead, Manzano will host Sandia at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Monarchs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Matadors have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
