Baseball Recap: Clarksville's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

The Clarksville Wildcats came up short against the Lincoln Trojans on Wednesday and fell 7-3. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Porter Murff was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Kirk Weatherford made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Carter Hedrick, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Clarksville fell to 5-1. As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Clarksville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-8 loss against Lewisburg on the 13th. As for Lincoln, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Trinity Christian Academy on the 13th.
