Deer Park waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Clear Springs Chargers by a score of 44-37. The squad ran away with 32 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.

Deer Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shelby Tortorici led the charge by putting up 11 points and seven boards. Tortorici has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Alyssa Harms was another key player, posting 14 points and five rebounds.

Deer Park was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clear Springs only posted three assists.

Clear Springs' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyla Kimbrough, who posted eight points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Jessel, who had four points and 12 rebounds.

Deer Park's record is now 17-15. As for Clear Springs, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-25 record this season.

Deer Park has already played their next matchup, a 56-37 loss against Dickinson on the 5th. As for Clear Springs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-22 defeat against Clear Creek on the 5th.
