Baseball Recap: Carson Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Carson, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Jay M. Robinson Bulldogs on Tuesday. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Kendal Sifford was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dylan Alexander, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Maverick Walters was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Carson hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Carson's record is now 8-10. As for Jay M. Robinson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Carson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-0 victory against North Iredell on the 15th. As for Jay M. Robinson, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-6 defeat against Charlotte S on the 15th.
