Basketball Recap: Bishop Canevin Comes Up Short

Bishop Canevin suffered their biggest defeat since December 3, 2024 on Monday. They took a blow against the New Castle Hurricanes, falling 79-45. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 25th).

Kai Cox continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for New Castle, going 9-for-13 en route to 20 points and seven assists. What's more, Cox also posted a 69% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Damian Harrison was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Bishop Canevin now has a losing record of 7-8. As for New Castle, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-3.

Looking ahead, Bishop Canevin will take on Seton LaSalle at 7:00 p.m. on February 18th. New Castle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
