Manchester waltzed into their contest  on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Canton South Wildcats with a sharp  7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won ten matches by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Rachel Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Cassidy Perry was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  double,  and one  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Saige Rankin, who  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.
Manchester's win was  their seventh straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 16-4. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Canton South, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
Manchester will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
