Basketball Recap: Sierra Linda Comes Up Short

Sierra Linda played a tough contest on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 96-33 loss at the hands of the Central Bobcats. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-12.

Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from John Mattingly, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven assists and six boards. Mattingly's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Rojas, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 17 points and six steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Sierra Linda and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.

Sierra Linda will square off against Alhambra at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sierra Linda is facing Alhambra at the right time seeing as Alhambra is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 80-51 victory against McClintock on the 11th.
