Football Recap: Hardin Northern Falls Despite Big Games from Sawyer Crossman and Blayne Kindle + How To Watch

Hardin Northern had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-9 to make it seven. They came up short against the Elgin Comets, falling 30-8. If the Polar Bears were looking for revenge after losing 32-28 to the Comets when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hardin Northern's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Blayne Kindle, who rushed for 117 yards, and Sawyer Crossman, who picked up 82 receiving yards and one touchdown.

As for Elgin, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-4. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won four contests by 22 points or more so far this season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Brennon Luikart and Archer Johnston. Luikart rushed for 185 yards and one score on only eight carries while Johnston rushed for 94 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries. Elgin is undefeated when Luikart posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 3-4 otherwise.

As of now, neither Hardin Northern nor the Comets have any future games scheduled.
