Mankato West had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Belle Plaine Tigers.

Mankato West pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Belle Plaine, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
