Baseball Recap: Holliday Starts Season with Win Against Breckenridge

Holliday gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over the Breckenridge Buckaroos. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Buckaroos: they've now won nine in a row.

Caleb White was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. White was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Steele Skinner was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Robert Albert was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Looking ahead, Holliday will square off against Burkburnett at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Breckenridge, they will take on Jim Ned at 5:00 p.m. on February 25th. Breckenridge is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
