Northside - Pinetown beat Rosewood on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 60-23. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 contests by 23 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Olivia Jane Cahoon, who en route to 35 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Northside - Pinetown's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Scheffler, who on her way to 10 points.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Washington County walked away with it. They secured a 72-66 W over the Leopards on Tuesday. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Washington County's win came from a few key players Northside - Pinetown will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ke'Myia Young, who posted 26 points. Her big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Aaliyah Carter was another key player, to rack up 21 points.
Northside - Pinetown's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.1 points. As for Washington County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Northside - Pinetown has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 20.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Washington County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Northside - Pinetown was dealt a bruising 77-28 defeat at the hands of Washington County when the teams last played back in February of 2019. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Northside - Pinetown was down 43-14.
