Softball Game Preview: Copiague Eagles vs. Smithtown East Bulls

Copiague hasn't had much luck against Smithtown East recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Bulls at 5:00 p.m. Copiague has given up an average of 14 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Copiague is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Wednesday. They lost 19-0 to Commack.

Meanwhile, Smithtown East strolled into their game last Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They beat Newfield by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-2. Fans of the Bulls have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Copiague's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Smithtown East, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Copiague suffered a grim 17-3 defeat to Smithtown East in their previous matchup on April 8th. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
