            Softball Recap: North Myrtle Beach Chiefs vs. Socastee Braves        
        
		
        
        
            North Myrtle Beach had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against the Socastee Braves by a score of  9-6. That's two games straight that the Chiefs have won by  exactly three  runs.
 Nealy Lockner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out six batters over  4.2 innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   three  hits (and only one walk). That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.

 In other batting news,  Kiera Olson and  Sadie Olson did most of the damage at the plate:  Kiera  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while  Sadie  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave  Kiera a new career-high in  doubles (two).  Mairead Olson also deserves some recognition as  she  got her first  hit of the season.
North Myrtle Beach's record now sits at 6-4. As for Socastee,  they are  on  an  11-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
North Myrtle Beach will have a chance to go back-to-back against Socastee: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
