Baseball Game Preview: Bradley-Bourbonnais Boilermakers vs. Lincoln-Way West Warriors

Bradley-Bourbonnais is 1-9 against Lincoln-Way West since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Boilermakers will host the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Bradley-Bourbonnais will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Bradley-Bourbonnais took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Lincoln-Way West, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Boilermakers won by a run and slipped past the Warriors 3-2.

Cody Freitas made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

In other pitching news, Lucas Garrett looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Kason Bynum was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Lincoln-Way West is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bradley-Bourbonnais, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6.
