Baseball Recap: Santa Fe South Drops Season-High Score on Ponca City

Santa Fe South scored the most runs they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ponca City Wildcats. The loss leaves the Saints still looking for their first win of the season.

Drew Cabrera made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Steve Morales was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Santa Fe South's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Ponca City, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Fe South will challenge Elgin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Elgin's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so Santa Fe South's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ponca City, they will square off against Charles Page at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
