After both having extra time off, the Syracuse Titans and the Riverton Silverwolves will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Syracuse will be strutting in after a victory while Riverton will be coming in after a loss.
On Tuesday, Syracuse made easy work of Davis and carried off a 3-0 win. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Darts recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Syracuse's got stronger as the match went on, holding Davis to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 25-17.
Meanwhile, Riverton didn't have quite enough to beat San Juan last Thursday and fell 3-2.
Riverton started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 18-25, 25-20, 25-20, 16-14.
Syracuse will have to keep a close watch on Annie Runolfson and Sofia Gonzalez, a pair of players who had a big impact on Riverton's prior game. Runolfson had ten digs and two aces, while Gonzalez had eight assists and four digs. Runolfson is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 12 games she's played. Bryn Nielsen also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Syracuse's win bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Riverton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season.
Syracuse took their victory against Riverton in their previous matchup back in November of 2021 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Silverwolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
