Softball Recap: Willow Springs Comes Up Short

Willow Springs dropped their record down to 10-7 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against Ava, falling 7-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Ava this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-3 back in March.

As for Ava, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2. Considering they have won eight matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Ava's part, Hannah Forrest was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Samantha Thompson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Willow Springs is set to challenge their familiar foe Mountain Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Ava will face off against rival Thayer at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
