Bagdad has gone a perfect 3-0 against Desert Heights Prep recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Sultans will host the Yote at 5:00 p.m. Bagdad has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Bagdad is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Wickenburg 23-17 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Sultans, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Dezirae Landers was a standout: she went 4-for-6 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Bria Moseley was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs.
Landers wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Bagdad kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 24 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Desert Heights Prep fell victim to Ray and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Bearcats, falling 18-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Yote were not able to get on the board.
Bagdad has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Desert Heights Prep, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bagdad has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .619. However, it's not like Desert Heights Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .480. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
