Volleyball Recap: Northeastern Takes a Loss

Northeastern dropped to 18-8 on Saturday, ending the team's three-match streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Whiteland Warriors by a score of 2-1. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Warriors when the teams met back in October of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Northeastern's offense was headlined by Alyia Diamond and Emma Bledsoe-Ryan, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Kamdyn Sum and her 22 assists. Diamond was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

As for Whiteland, with the victory, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 10-16. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since September 27th.

Whiteland was led to victory by Lilly Brown and Mari Allee. Brown had 19 digs, while Allee had 13 digs. That's the most digs Brown has posted over her last 11 contests.

Northeastern has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Lawrenceburg on the 11th. As for Whiteland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Jay County on the 11th.
