Fullerton is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. After each having a week off, they and the Beckman Patriots will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Fullerton is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Rancho Buena Vista: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Indians blew the Longhorns out of the water with a 39-0 final score. Considering the Indians have won four games by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Caden Wise was his usual excellent self, rushing for 112 yards and three scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Fullerton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 284 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Fullerton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Nathan Vejar, Wilson Aldana, and Scottie Leflore picked up one apiece. Aldana has been hot recently, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last three times he's played. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beckman). They blew past Woodbridge 35-14 last Friday. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Fullerton better keep an eye on Noah Nam. He was instrumental in Beckman's win, rushing for 54 yards and three TDs on only five carries, while also throwing for 240 yards and a pair of touchdowns. That's the most passing yards Nam has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Makhi Czaykowski, who gained 217 total yards.

One reason for the win was Beckman's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Zak Hazboun, Sawyer Nickelson, and Skyeler Knight, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Fullerton's record is now 4-1. As for Beckman, their record now sits at 2-3.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Fullerton has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 212 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Beckman struggles in that department as they've been averaging 166.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Fullerton was taken down by Beckman 41-7 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Indians were down 34-0.
