Football Recap: Archbishop Carroll Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bell last Friday, Archbishop Carroll came back down to earth. The Lions took a blow against the Gonzaga Eagles on Saturday, falling 42-7. The Lions have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Archbishop Carroll lost, don't look at Tk Davis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 131 yards and one TD. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 74 yards.

Archbishop Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Gonzaga, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Archbishop Carroll will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bishop McNamara at 1:00 p.m. on October 4. As for Gonzaga, they will head out on the road to challenge Malvern Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
