Baseball Game Preview: Atlantic Collegiate Academy Armada vs. East Clarendon Wolverines

For the second straight game, Atlantic Collegiate Academy will face off against East Clarendon. The Armada will challenge the Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, Atlantic Collegiate Academy didn't have quite enough to beat East Clarendon and fell 4-3.

Andrew Larsen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Zach Spencer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Justin Sheffield, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The victory (which was East Clarendon's 11th in a row) raised their record to 13-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Atlantic Collegiate Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.
