Milan faced Grosse Ile in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Big Reds never let the Red Devils get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Big Reds this season.

The win was the third in a row for Milan, bringing their record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Grosse Ile, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Milan will challenge St. Mary Catholic Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons/Kestrels' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Big Reds' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Grosse Ile, they will face off against Flat Rock at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
