Recap: Jefferson Raiders vs. Auburn Riverside Ravens
The Jefferson Raiders lost a heartbreaker to the Auburn Riverside Ravens when they met back in December of 2022, and they left with a heavy heart again on Thursday. Jefferson took a 64-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Auburn Riverside. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Jefferson still got an impressive performance from Josias Kpontont, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kpontont has scored all season. Jakob Bolli was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Auburn Riverside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaiden Barba out in front who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Freddie Boles, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Jefferson bumped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Auburn Riverside, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8.
Jefferson will take on Beamer at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Beamer is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games. As for Auburn Riverside, they will head out on the road to challenge Kentlake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kentlake is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
