Valley Christian is 9-1 against Archbishop Riordan since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Crusaders at 11:00 p.m. Valley Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.

Valley Christian is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Wednesday. Neither they nor the Fightin' Irish could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result kept Valley Christian happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 2, 2025.

Their goal came courtesy of Isaiah Barraza, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Archbishop Riordan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out St. Ignatius College Preparatory 2-1 on Wednesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Archbishop Riordan's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 954th, while St. Ignatius College Preparatory are ranked 27th).

Valley Christian's draw gives them a new season record of 4-2-1. As for Archbishop Riordan, they moved to 2-5 with that win, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Valley Christian came up short against Archbishop Riordan in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, falling 4-2. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
