Basketball Game Preview: West Lafayette Red Devils vs. Northwestern Tigers

Having just played yesterday, the West Lafayette Red Devils will jump right back in to play the Northwestern Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in West Lafayette's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 19 matchups.

West Lafayette is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Peru by a score of 68-58. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Tigers are ranked 293rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Northwestern beat Logansport 64-52 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

West Lafayette's record is now 21-4. As for Northwestern, their record now sits at 17-5.

West Lafayette couldn't quite finish off Northwestern when the teams last played back in March of 2025 and fell 49-46. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
