Basketball Game Preview: Lewiston-Altura Cardinals vs. Fillmore Central Falcons

The Lewiston-Altura Cardinals will face off against the Fillmore Central Falcons at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lewiston-Altura is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Lake City just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Tigers and fell 66-30. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Tigers are ranked 86th).

Meanwhile, Fillmore Central ended up a good deal behind Baldwin-Woodville on Saturday and lost 52-34. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lewiston-Altura's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6. As for Fillmore Central, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Lewiston-Altura couldn't quite finish off Fillmore Central in their previous matchup back in January and fell 48-45. Can Lewiston-Altura avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
