Basketball Recap: El Segundo Comes Up Short

El Segundo was the 62-43 winner over Torrance when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The El Segundo Eagles fell 53-43 to the Torrance Tartars on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 547th, while the Tartars are ranked 268th).

El Segundo has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Torrance, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

El Segundo will be home for the holidays to greet Los Amigos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Torrance will take on Monrovia in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Monrovia is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.1 points per game this season.
