The Banning Pilots will head out on the road to square off against the Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Meanwhile, Capistrano Valley Christian won against Arroyo last Friday with 34 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Capistrano Valley Christian enjoyed a cozy 34-17 victory over University. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Trojans are ranked 625th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Joshua Monroe went supernova for Capistrano Valley Christian, rushing for 268 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per carry. Monroe also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making two total tackles.

Banning pushed their record up to 2-0 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Capistrano Valley Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 2-0.
