Soccer Recap: Perry Takes a Loss

Perry's tournament run continued when they took on Salesian College Preparatory on Saturday. The Perry Pumas took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Salesian College Preparatory Pride. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pumas came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 27th in Arizona, while the Pride are ranked 508th in California).

Perry's goal came courtesy of Brayden Weisenfluh, which was the first he's scored this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Perry and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Salesian College Preparatory, the victory got them back to even at 3-3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry and San Dieguito Academy will round out the year against one another at at 8:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Salesian College Preparatory, they will face off against Marin Catholic at 11:00 a.m. on January 4, 2025.
