Volleyball Recap: Paetow Gets the Win

Paetow posted their closest win since August 22nd on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Katy Taylor Mustangs 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in September, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Paetow was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-17, 19-25, 22-25, 25-15, 15-11.

Among those leading the charge was Lyric Cruz, who had ten digs and one assist. That's the most digs she has posted over her last six matchups.

The victory made it two in a row for Paetow and bumps their season record up to 17-15. As for Katy Taylor, they dropped their record down to 19-20 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Paetow and Katy Taylor could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Panthers will challenge Jordan at 5:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (299 vs. 74). Meanwhile, Katy Taylor (ranked 202nd) will meet Tompkins (ranked 11th) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
