Softball Recap: Iola Comes Up Short

Somerville hit Iola with a eight-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yeguas. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yeguas apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Iola's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Somerville, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.

Iola didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Milano on the 13th. Hopefully Somerville paid attention to the Bulldogs' matchup: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
