Jackson and Thomson squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Jackson had to settle for second. They took a 14-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 108th).

When it comes to explaining why Jackson lost, don't look at Danarri Brown. Despite the final result, he rushed for 150 yards. The Red Devils are 4-2 when Brown posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 0-5 otherwise.

Jackson has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Thomson, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Jackson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Thomson, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 28-19 victory against Callaway on the 21st.
