Baseball Recap: Easton Area Rovers vs. Freedom Patriots
Easton Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 11-1 walloping at the hands of the Freedom Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Easton Area of the 6-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
Easton Area saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Shollenberger, who went 1-for-2 with a triple and an RBI.
On Freedom's side, John Phillips was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Jarred Peluso was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Easton Area's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Freedom, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Easton Area will head out on the road to take on Nazareth Area at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Freedom, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Allentown Central Catholic at 4:00 p.m.
