Baseball Game Preview: Piner Prospectors vs. Healdsburg Greyhounds

For the second straight game, Piner will face off against Healdsburg. The Prospectors will be playing at home against the Greyhounds at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Piner came up short against Healdsburg and fell 5-2. The Prospectors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Healdsburg's part, Eric Nielsen looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Nielsen has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Vinny Loupy was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

The victory (which was Healdsburg's fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Piner, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.
